About this tool
Scanned pages often have wide borders, and slides or reports sometimes have empty margins. Move the sliders to cut away the top, bottom, left and right, watch the preview, and save a cropped PDF. The same crop is applied to every page.
How to use it
- Choose your PDF. The first page appears as a preview.
- Drag the four sliders. The dark area will be cut away.
- Select Crop PDF and download the file.
When this is useful
- Remove wide scanner borders.
- Cut empty margins from slides or reports.
- Make text larger on a small phone screen.
- Trim dark edges around scanned pages.
Tips for best results
- Move the sliders in small steps and watch the preview.
- Leave a little margin so no text is cut.
- The crop from page 1 applies to every page, so check the other pages too.
- Combine with Compress PDF to make scans smaller.
Good to know
The preview shows page 1, and the same margins are applied to every page. Pages that were rotated in the original are handled so that the margins you see are the ones removed. Cropping hides the outer area, it does not delete it.
Questions and answers
Does cropping delete what is outside the box?
No. It hides the outer area, but the content remains inside the file. Do not use cropping to remove private information.
Can I crop only one page?
Not yet. The same crop is applied to all pages.
Will the quality change?
No. Pages are not re-drawn, only the visible area changes.
Does cropping change the page size?
Yes. The visible page becomes smaller because the outer area is cut away. When you print, it is printed at the new size unless your printer scales it.
Your files stay with you
This tool opens and changes your file inside your own browser. Your documents are not uploaded to a server. Keep a copy of your original file, and on a shared computer delete downloaded files when you are done.
