PDFEditor

About PDFEditor

PDFEditor is a set of free tools for the everyday jobs people do with PDF files and photos: turning pictures into a PDF, joining and splitting documents, making files smaller for an upload limit, signing forms, and preparing photos for applications. There is nothing to install and no account to make.

What you can do here

Why your files stay private

Every tool runs inside your own web browser. When you choose a file, it is opened and changed on your device, and the result is saved straight to your downloads. The files are not sent to our servers, so we cannot see them, keep them or recover them. The code libraries that handle PDFs are hosted on our own domain, so using a tool does not send your files or your address to another code provider.

What we do not do

  • We do not ask you to sign up, and we do not add watermarks to your files.
  • We do not sell or share your documents, because we never receive them.
  • We do not place ads over the buttons or the area where you choose your file.

How the site is paid for

PDFEditor is supported by advertising, shown by Google AdSense. Ads are kept separate from the tools. See our privacy policy for how advertising cookies work and how to opt out.

About our guides

The articles in our blog explain the same steps you would take in the tools, written to be followed on a phone. We update them when a tool changes. If you find a mistake or an outdated step, please tell us.

Limits we are open about

  • We cannot open password-protected PDFs, and we do not yet convert Word, Excel or PowerPoint files.
  • Reading text from scanned pictures (OCR) is not available yet.
  • In Edit PDF, Urdu, Arabic and Hindi text is added as a picture, so it cannot be selected afterwards.
  • Compress PDF can keep the text, or save pages as pictures for the smallest size. It explains which mode does what.
  • A picture of your signature is not a certified digital signature. Some offices require their own e-signature process.

Who maintains PDFEditor

The site and its tools are built and maintained by the PDFEditor Editorial Team. Every tool is tested by hand in real browsers on phones and computers before it is published, and again whenever we change it. Guides in the blog are written by the same team and are reviewed for accuracy when the tool they describe changes.

Tell us what you need
