How to Delete or Extract Pages from a PDF

Sometimes a PDF has a blank page in the middle, a cover you do not need, or a hundred pages when you only want to send five. You do not need special software: you can remove or extract pages in your browser.

Option 1: Extract the pages you want

Use this when you already know which pages to keep.

1. Open Split PDF and choose your file.
2. Leave the mode on “Extract specific pages” and type the pages, for example 1-3, 5, 8-10.
3. Select Split PDF and download the new file.

Separate ranges with commas. A range like 4-7 means pages 4, 5, 6 and 7. An open end such as 8- means page 8 to the last page.

Option 2: Delete pages you do not want

Use this when you can see which pages are wrong.

1. Open Organize PDF and choose your file. A thumbnail of every page appears.
2. Press the ✕ button under any page to remove it. It fades out but stays visible, so you can bring it back with the restore button.
3. If needed, move pages with the arrows or turn them with the rotate button.
4. Check the count under the pages, then select Save PDF.

Which option should I use?

If you want to keep a few pages out of a very long document, extracting is quicker because you only type page numbers. If you want to throw away one or two pages, deleting is easier because you can see them.

• Split a long PDF into equal parts, or into one file per page, with the other modes in Split PDF. Those come as a ZIP file.
• Combine the pages you kept with other files using Merge PDF.

Your original file is never changed. You always download a new copy.
