Pakistan CNIC and Passport Photo Size: Exact Requirements
A Pakistani CNIC, NICOP or passport photo has a specific size and a few simple rules. Getting it right the first time saves a trip back to the photo shop.
The size
The standard size is 35 x 45 mm (3.5 x 4.5 cm), on a plain white background, in color. For a digital upload, this is commonly requested as roughly 413 x 531 pixels at 300 DPI, though the exact pixel count can vary slightly by the specific NADRA or passport service you are using, so check the upload page for any stated pixel or file size limit.
What NADRA and passport services generally ask for
- Plain white background, no shadows or patterns.
- Face looking straight at the camera, neutral expression, mouth closed.
- Both ears do not need to be visible, but the full face should be.
- No head covering, except for religious reasons, and the face must still be fully visible.
- Recent photo, generally taken within the last few months.
Crop your photo to 35 x 45 mm
- Take your photo against a plain white wall or sheet, in even daylight, with the camera at eye level.
- Open Passport photo and choose the picture.

- Zoom and move the photo until your head fills the guide oval and your eyes sit near the guide line.

If the file is too big
